Senator Marco Rubio Drops His Support for SOPA and Protect IP

If you have not already heard these two bills would basically put the government in charge or what is on the internet and what is not. Scary! Paul Ryan announced a little while back that he could not longer support the bills and now Marco Rubio joined him in changing his mind.

That is great and we thank them but the question still lingers that 'why' would they have supported it in the first place? Makes you wonder and is disappointing because you hope people like Rubio and Ryan always have our backs. That is not the case!

The bottom line is that 'We The People' MUST keep our eye on everything they do and try to do in Washington at all times no matter who is there. Just because Rubio has back off supporting this bill does not mean it is dead so stay tuned in!

Think about where we have gone as a nation when our Government is just days away from 'controlling' the internet which is the number one way people get their news these days. Very disturbing that we have a Government that wants to do that. There have also been several stories lately that the Government is monitoring websites like the Drudge Report.

Here is what Rubio said on his Facebook page...

Our economic situation is the greatest threat to our defense.

I think it is pretty simple why many people don't like Ron Paul's stance on defense. The majority of people (not debating right or wrong) in this country support overseas bases and troops as a way to defend this country 'from over there.' Meaning they would prefer to fight the battles not on our shores but 'over there.' It is a more proactive stance to defense than just waiting for others to attack us here and retaliating. Just suggesting but perhaps this philosophy came about after Pearl Harbor.

Some people like Ron Paul's approach but the majority of Americans don't. Which way is best? It is in the eye of the beholder as no one can say for sure either way. But I prefer to fight our battles over there and feel in the long run that is the smartest and safest approach to National Defense.
