Obama has Abandoned the State of Israel and Jews Should Abandon Obama!

Mitt Romney had an interesting, controversial, and completely ignored line during his speech at the Republican National Convention. Mitt said “Obama has thrown Israel under the bus.” Mitt knew something the rest of us didn’t. The story is shocking- as much for the betrayal of one of our strongest allies- as for the timing.

Obama has gone rogue. As I’ve said for 3 ½ years, President Obama is no friend of Israel. But I thought his betrayal would be timed for sometime after the election- perhaps on a quiet Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday weekend. The fact he has openly thrown Israel under the bus BEFORE the election is a disturbing sign for Jews (and for all Americans who support the right of our longtime friend and ally Israel to exist). Can you imagine what Obama is capable of after the Presidential election- if he never again has to answer to Jewish voters?

On Thursday, August 30th Time magazine disclosed that U.S. Joint Chiefs Chairman, General Martin Dempsey, told reporters in London, “I don’t want to be complicit” if Israel chooses to conduct a military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. No top general would ever say anything like that without orders from the White House. Those are clearly Obama’s words, not Dempsey’s.

Even louder than the words are the actions of the Obama administration. TIME reports that a U.S.-Israeli joint war games exercise was postponed several months ago to show Obama’s displeasure over Israel’s plans to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities. After being re-scheduled for this Fall it has suddenly been scaled back, drastically. TIME reports that “well-placed sources” in both countries have confirmed that the Obama administration has slashed more than two-thirds the number of U.S. troops participating; decided not to send crews to operate Patriot anti-missile systems; and will either cut in half or entirely eliminate the Ballistic Missile Defense warships involved in the exercise.

A senior Israeli official told TIME the message the Obama administration is sending is “We don’t trust you.” I would contend the Israeli official is being very diplomatic. The real message is much more brutal: “Good luck Israel. You are on your own.”

Everyone in the Obama administration is aware that an attack by Israel on Iran requires the latest “bunker buster” bombs provided only by the U.S. military. Israel also knows that a pre-emptive strike on Iran (to save itself from the holocaust promised by Iran as soon as it has nuclear capabilities), will result in retaliation from both Iran and Hezbollah. With 40,000+ missiles aimed at Israel from nearby Lebanon, Israel needs not only missile shields, but also military help from the U.S. to protect her civilian population and her very survival.

Even worse, the X-band radar system in the Israeli desert aimed at Iran and linked to Israel’s anti-missile systems, to warn Israel of incoming missiles, is manned by and controlled by U.S. military personnel. Without cooperation from the U.S. military, Israel is literally “flying blind.” The ability to save Israeli civilian lives and shoot down incoming missiles is in the hands of Barack Obama. And his message is clear, “We don’t have your back.”

Given the cold shoulder Obama has given Israel since his inauguration, it is not a major shock that he is the first U.S. President to refuse to help Israel defend her citizens and national security. What is a major shock is his showing in no uncertain terms his bias against Israel’s right to defend herself BEFORE the election.

The question is “Why?” Obviously, first is Obama’s true radical nature – he is no friend of Israel. Second, Obama had no choice, but to abandon Israel now. As I’ve predicted publicly for months now, Israel is assured of no help after the election (if Obama is reelected and no longer has to face Jewish voters ever again). Therefore Israel’s best option is to order the attack before the U.S. election, when Obama’s distaste for Israel may be overcome by his desperate need for Jewish votes and Jewish donors to remain in power. Netanayu undoubtedly told Obama that he has reached the same decision.

Boxed into a corner, Obama is now doing all in his power to stop the air strike now, stalling it until after the election. And of course, we all know Obama loves to please Russian President Putin. Rumors from sources in both Washington and Moscow report that Putin has asked Obama to handcuff Israel. We all heard Obama tell the Russians “Sit tight and give me space, this is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.” Unfortunately, it’s now clear one of those “flexible items” is to abandon Israel.

As a Jew and a lifelong supporter of Israel, I would ask my fellow Jews to think long and hard at the voting booth on November 6th. Perhaps it is time to consider whether the historic voting patterns of Jews on behalf of the Democratic Party are in the best interests of the Jewish people? Is a vote for Obama, a vote condemning Israel to become a sitting duck in the name of political correctness? Even more importantly, is voting for Obama over social issues, or a woman’s right to choose, worth risking another another Holocaust?

My conclusion: It’s time for Jews to abandon Obama, the same way Obama has abandoned Israel.

So your entire thesis -- that Obama is using political and diplomatic means to dissuade Israel from initiating a third war in the Middle East, and that this constitutes "throwing Israel under the bus" -- is based on your statement that "No top general would ever say anything like that without orders from the White House. Those are clearly Obama’s words, not Dempsey’s."

That is an extremely thin premise on which to base such an allegation, and seems to me to be nothing more than a lame attempt at retroactively justifying an offhand remark made by Romney by manufacturing an "issue" out of thin air. Were I not so lazy, I'm sure I could find several examples of top generals issuing loose-cannon-type statements; probably just by looking back to when the W administration ignored its top generals' advice and barged ahead with the Iraqi invasion.

Your position seems to be the opposite of what Conservatives feel about the US's military and sovereignty: You suggest that other countries -- in this case, Israel -- should be able to drag the US into a messy conflict on their own terms and timeline.

Sorry, but I don't see it.

Your focus is on the wrong issue, Israel will be just fine she will weather this storm threat. How ever America will not fair is good. There is a statement in the bible found in Genesis 12:1-3. It is an everlasting promise to Gods people Israel, and a everlasting warning to the nations around her. Ge 12:1 ¶ Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father's house, To the land which I will show you; And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." America has been blessed by ALmighty God for her support to Israel. We as a nation have prospered from being Israels friend and God has been faithful to His word. How ever, selling out help and aid to Israel will only provoke God and He will hold blessings to this nation. God knows Obama'a heart and the hearts of Amreicans as well. You turn on Israel and you will incurr the judgment of God. If you think unemployment and our economy and the weather events are bad now wait. You have just seen the tip of the Iceberg of Gods disaproval of our wrong choices towards Israel. Most will mock and deny, but there are untold millions in America who also see this and know Genesis 12:1-3 is being fulfilled in America and on America. Our President is arrogant and he is a deceiver. We have one last change to vote him out before the other shoe drops. If Obama sees another four years and God sees the people of America giving him another four years. We America will see Gods hand of correction. I for one am praying for His mercy and grace that He not destroy us account of Obama and his lemmings.

This in no way is a response to my point, that W received significant pushback from his own military advisors prior to the Iraq invasion, arguing against it on both strategic and tactical levels.

My point was that the article on this page did not come anywhere close to making its case. Your response amounts to an assist to Mr. Root, and establishes a new set of claims. But okay, let's say that all of the inferences, suppositions, and guesses -- which is all that there is in the linked articles -- are correct. All you have is a scenario as I suggested in my initial comment above: The US and Israel disagree on whether it is a good idea to invade/attack Iran at this time, and the Obama administration is using common political techniques to further its position of wishing to keep us out of a third simultaneous war in the region -- where we are currently fighting two wars which should never have been begun. Be honest: If a republican administration did the same thing, conservatives would be behind it 1000%. But because Fox News says it's a horrible, criminal breach, conservatives everywhere shatter a tooth as their knees jerk in response? Come on.

The article clearly demonstrates the military was fully aware of what (and why) they would asked to do long before Bush was elected. In fact, any military personnel worth their salt were still angry they weren't allowed to get the job done when they were sent to Kuwait! Any idiot knew we would be back for the same reason within 10 years.

If you can't easily see all of this then you've got quite a personal situation(s) to deal with. Now that you're aware of it, you can cease making it anyone elses but then again, that would go back to relying on your basic common sense, wouldn't it.

First of all, Obama has already surrendered Iraq (who is now Iran's ally) which he was warned against doing when he announced to the enemy what our withdrawal time line would be! To suggest we continue being manipulated (with 'common political techniques' of sanctions that Bush tried for several years) in the same way Hussein played us (and several other dictators) for additional time to ready himself against us for a nuclear war is nothing short of insane. Apparently, history's lessons (even recent ones) aren't crystal clear enough for you to learn from where you'll make the same mistakes that we won't allow you nor Obama to drag the rest of us down to failure with.

Now it is time for me to be honest and offer what I think of continuing any debate with you:

“To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.”- Thomas Paine

@Winghunter:

Once again, you post a response that does not in any way reply to what I posted; you do not seem capable of reading what I write and replying to it. As well, your responses (when able to be decoded into English) are full of factual and logical holes: You ascribe Bush's announcement of the withdrawal timetable to Obama -- when the discussion was about Iran, and Iraq was never mentioned; then when I am talking about Israel, you respond to my words as if I were discussing Iran; you put into my mouth comments about continuing sanctions when I never mentioned anything close to sanctions - and then you compound your misunderstandings, mischaracterizations, and tangents by using the old canard of insultingly implying that I am the one who does not see reason? Nice try.

Oh, and the delicious irony of you admonishing me to learn from history's lessons while defending the strategic military decisions of a man who invaded Afghanistan -- a region which, despite many attempts over thousands of years (and I'll bet you can remember the most recent), has never been successfully conquered -- is so good it almost hurts.

Please honor your promise to cease your dialogue with me, and I will do the same. I am only interested in discussing these issues with someone who responds to what I have actually written, instead of someone who rips off pre-canned responses to a bunch of things that I never said or even mentioned.
