Taking Back America!
During the election cycle of 2010, I wrote an article which was published in Canada Free Press with this title. It seems fitting that I do an update of this for the 2012 election as November is moving ever closer.
As a young lad growing up in an isolate French Canadian community in Alberta, Canada it was a real treat to make the two hour trip to town a couple of times a year just to watch a movie. Always John Wayne. Or at least it seemed like it. Now I knew very little english but as a young boy growing in the wide open Canadian prairies I knew what his swagger and attitude and winning smile said to me. America was great and Americans were heros. They were the most rough and tumble cowboys and cowgals you would ever encouter. Lead he would say or get out of my way!
John Wayne was not just a little Canadian boy's hero. He was a hero to the world and emulated all that was good and strong and right about the great American Republic. As I see the fight that is now taking place on the other side of the border I wonder what he would think about his country today?
Would he think that things really are so complicated that the common everyday person is too stupid to make up their own minds about things but must allow themselves to be manipulated by a media that is corrupted? Would he be supporting establishment figures in the political arena who are all about money and power and control of the people rather than FOR the people? The same ones who have planted a 'for sale' sign in front of the White House the occupancy of which now seems to go to the highest bidder? Would he be jumping on stage in support of folks like them or would he be riding in with a posse to challenge them? Fight the establishment that has failed America so miserably these past few years? I think I know what his choice would be because some things in life do not have to be that complicated.
The Tea Party would be saluted by this hero of men and women. Not just in America by the way but around the world. An American original that is taking root in countries who see the real value of the little people. Not so little and not so dumb after all eh? To say that America is at a crossroads and that this coming election is going to be one of the most important in the history of your Republic is huge. It will mark your continued march to a Eurpean socialized style society or the rapid return to the free Republic your founders meant America to be.
If you do not win, the Republic loses. If you do not win socialized ideology will be further embedded into your society that you will become a country of hand outs instead of hand ups. Canada went that route almost fifty years ago now. I was one who helped it begin and by the time I realized it was a system that would never work the additction had begun. I am proud to say that just last spring we have begun a turn around but it will take years for us to find true freedom again. If ever.
I think back to those days of sitting in the darkened theater and watching the great American hero John Wayne mount his horse and dust off his hat tipping to all who are watching him. Now, he is watching you America and I know without a doubt that he would be with you. With the Tea Party and all it stands for. He would tip his hat and in his low lazy drawl tell you "It's time to ride pilgrims!"
"It's time to ride"
Be there in November? You betcha!
Just a view from my side of the fence!
