During my last two years of elementary education, I had a teacher who kept slips of paper with various punishments written on them in a big jar that sat on his desk in the front of the classroom. Doing something for which a child would normally be punished meant participation in the punishment lottery. There were two passes, various defined swats with various paddles, writing numbers up to a seemingly high number, essays, math problems, writing lines, stuff like that. In other words, good times were had by all my friends. Shockingly, by the time seventh grade came around, I ended up attending military school.

As you might expect, the discipline at Linsly Military Institute was slightly different than what I had experienced up to that point in my life. Ultimately, the increased discipline helped me to focus my energy, and to become a more productive member of society. I often wonder where in life I would have ended up, had I never received the gift of someone who refused to tolerate my being an idiot. There are about half of our fellow Americans who believe that our Constitution demands that we guarantee equality of outcomes. The other half of us believe that we should guarantee nothing more than a level and honest playing field in which each of us can play life's game to the best of our varying, and unfortunately disparate capabilities. Life is not fair, and all attempts to inflict fairness upon us will only result in disaster.

It is with that last thought that I ask you to watch this mind boggling video, the topic of which is the latest unbelievably moronic action of our President, Barack Hussein Obama.

My first question is this: Do we really want to send our children out into the world completely unprepared for the shit storm that is adult life? Our Trifecta panel, while they manage to make some valid points, ultimately miss the largest point. Who will be hurt the most by this? I submit that it will be the black students who will be further destroyed by this action. Coddling children will produce nothing but spoiled brats. Spoiled children will more often than not grow to be spoiled adults. Discipline is not some sort of torture with which children are wantonly punished for nothing other than drawing breath in a cruel Dystopian universe. Discipline is a lesson taught to children who have not learned sufficiently where the parameters of acceptable behavior lie. These children who will be given passes from the punishment lottery because all of that month's harsher penalties, which may or may not be more appropriate for what ever infractions are being committed, will one day be looking for jobs. While employed hopefully in those jobs, what chance of actually holding those jobs or advancing up the ladder will these future citizens have, absent the life skills learned by being corrected each and every time they stepped past the parameters which determine socially acceptable behavior?

This goes well beyond the usual damage inflicted by a government bureaucracy. No longer content with petty bureaucrats pretending to be assets to society by mindlessly inflicting their little fiefdoms of authority arbitrarily and assuming ever increasing amounts of authority as self anointed lords of their realm, we are now purposefully inflicting life altering damage upon America's youth. You see, Mr. Steckley's penalty jar complete with its free passes does not exist in the adult world. What does exist in the adult world is a society with parameters already established and a rigid set of rules for what happens to people who choose to step outside of those lines. Poverty, starvation, homelessness, prison is much more likely in the future of those being handed a pass today in lieu of a life lesson in the form of discipline.

The good news of course is this. The current group of dolts which make up today's Democrat Party will be nowhere near by when it is time to take responsibility for this destructive policy. They'll have long been replaced by a new group of dolts who will no doubt have dreamed up an equally destructive government intrusion which will be inflicted for the purpose of somewhat mitigating the disastrous consequences of this government intrusion. Anyone who disagrees with this of course will be accused of being racist and without compassion. Call it a hunch.
