Former Obama Co-Chair from 2008 Joins Romney Campaign

It looks like more and more people have 'seen the light' and realize that supporting Barack Obama is and was a big mistake. Here is another example;

Artur Davis

In 2008, he was one of the biggest champions for Barack Obama, even serving as an Obama campaign co-chairman and seconding Obama’s nomination at the Democratic National Convention.

But that was then and this is now.

Today, Artur Davis, a former four-term Democratic congressman from Alabama is now supporting Republican Mitt Romney for president, and is joining him on the campaign trail in Arlington, Va.

Just last month in Falls Church, Va., Davis gave a rousing address to the Northern Virginia Tea Party, rallying the crowd to defeat his former ally Obama.

The Birmingham News indicated “Davis’ sermon-like speech, invoking both the 1980 Reagan revolution and Rosa Parks, earned a standing ovation and chants of ‘USA.’”

During that speech (scroll down for video), Davis also encouraged young people: “You tell everybody your age that being Republican is cool, being conservative is the right thing to do. It’s the right set of values. You testify, you minister, and you bring ‘em on board with you, because we’re not going to concede young people to the Democratic Party in 2012.”

Two years ago, Davis ran unsuccessfully for governor of Alabama, and in May of this year, he left the Democratic Party to become a Republican.

In June, Davis said he thinks his former political party was becoming more unwelcoming toward Southern conservative Democrats.

“I think the Obama administration has candidly gone too far to the left. You can raise all kinds of questions on whether that’s good politics or not,” he said on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.” “Obviously the election will determine that.”

According to the Hill, Davis was the only black Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives to vote against Obamacare.

The Hill notes, “He has grown increasingly vocal over his disagreements with his party, at one point lamenting on his website that ‘[the Democratic Party of today] is not Bill Clinton’s Democratic Party.’”

Wow...this great.  Maybe now a bunch of other democrats will join us.  I welcome them!

It doesn't surprise me at all that Artur Davis would leave the Democratic Party and now support the Romney/Ryan ticket. However, I don't believe he's the first to do so, nor do I think he'll be the last. I certainly commend him for his bold choice and I expect to see many, many others rally among the Republicans in the months leading up to the election. I believe many disgruntled Democrats, who no longer want to be associated with the lies of the Obama administration, will run from them like rats running from a burning house. If they don't, the longer the campaign goes, the more the democratic talons will be revealed and the more their true negative colors will be seen by prospective voters.

My prayer for this nation currently is that those who have been previously blinded by the entitlement money tree, bought the current administration's lies, or were just plain ignorant about economics and politics in general, would pay attention and see the truth of their future. Now that the economy is affecting people personally through gas prices, unemployment, and medical and retirement issues, I'm hopeful their blinders will be removed and they'll vote intelligently because of the issues facing our entire nation. As I was once told of a freebie-loving Democrat, "If it's free, it's me!" Those who want true freedom are those who will vote to be released from the bondage of the government programs.

Amen to that.  One thing that surprised me today is that I read that WWII veterans voted for obama because he was a democrat and they liked FDR because they think he won the war.  That surprised me.

Welcome Artur Davis!  Awesome!!!!
